Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This explains what personal information we collect when you use securedogparks.co.uk, why, and what your rights are. We’ve tried to keep it short and in plain English.
Who we are
The controller of your personal information is Gary Tuck, trading as Secure Dog Parks, a sole trader in the UK. For anything to do with your data, contact us at securedogparks@icloud.com.
What we collect
At the moment the only thing we collect is what you put in our sign-up form:
- your email address;
- whether you said you are a dog owner or a park or field owner (we use this to send you relevant emails);
- a record that you ticked the consent box, with the date and time, the wording you agreed to, and which form you used.
We don’t ask for your name, address or payment details, and we don’t collect special category data. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t run analytics on the website for now (see our Cookie notice).
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Email you the checklist, news about the Secure Dog Parks directory, guides and tips, and (if you’re a park owner) early-access details | Consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You give this by ticking the box on the form. The box is never ticked for you. |
| Keep a record of your consent and your unsubscribe, and keep our systems secure | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): we need to show who agreed to what, and to respect people who unsubscribe. |
You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing doesn’t affect anything we did before.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We use these companies to run the service (they act as our processors):
- Kit (kit.com), our email service. It stores your email address and sends our emails. Kit is based in the US. For transfers of UK personal data, Kit says it relies on the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, where needed, standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum. See Kit’s privacy policy and data processing addendum.
- Cloudflare (cloudflare.com), which hosts this website and processes your sign-up as it passes through. Like any host, it handles technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. Cloudflare operates globally. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address and consent record while you’re subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal record (your email address and the fact that you unsubscribed) so that we don’t email you again. If you ask us to delete your information completely, we’ll delete it from Kit as well, unless the law requires us to keep something. We review our subscriber list at least once a year and remove people who are no longer engaged.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- be told what we hold about you and get a copy (access);
- have wrong information corrected;
- have your information deleted (erasure);
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- receive your information in a portable format.
To use any of these, email securedogparks@icloud.com. Every email we send also has an unsubscribe link. We’ll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website uses HTTPS, our email account is protected, and we only collect what we need. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
If we change what we collect (for example when the directory, accounts or reviews launch), we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
